Springfield, VA — The Virgin Islands Veterans Association (VIVA), Inc. today announced its support for the 12th Annual Sons of the American Legion Pig Roast, hosted by Squadron 176 on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at American Legion Post 176, 6520 Amherst Avenue, Springfield, VA. The event is open to the public; admission is $20 per person at the door (no presale) and includes pork, chicken, sides, and music by a DJ. Details: facebook.com/Squadron176.
“Post 176 has been serving Springfield’s veterans and their families for decades, and the Sons’ pig roast is how a lot of that work gets funded,” said Al Dalmida Jr., USCG (Ret.), Secretary of VIVA. “VIVA is new, but the Legion Family is the kind of neighbor we want to be a good neighbor to. If you’re a Virgin Islander in the DMV, a veteran of any service, or a friend of either, come out on September 19.”
Headquartered minutes away in Burke, VIVA encourages Virgin Islanders, veterans, and community members across Northern Virginia to attend. Board directors and members plan to be on-site.
