VIVA Launches Benefits Navigation Guide: Key Phone Numbers and Websites for Veteran and Retiree Benefits
July 18, 2026 — The Virgin Islands Veterans Association (VIVA) is launching a Benefits Navigation Guide to help members find their way through Medicare, TRICARE, and VA benefits contacts. This guide gives members one place to find the phone numbers and websites they need most, including Medicare and TRICARE coordination, survivor and life insurance benefits, and VA claims support. QR codes are included so members can visit each website directly from their phone.
Medicare Part B Enrollment Is Mandatory at Age 65
When you turn 65, your medical benefits change. Medicare becomes your primary medical coverage and TRICARE pays secondary to Medicare. You MUST enroll in Medicare Part B to retain your TRICARE coverage. If you are within 90 days of your 65th birthday, log on to www.ssa.gov or medicare.gov to enroll in Medicare Part B.
