VIVA proudly celebrates Commander Hantal on her retirement after more than two decades of service to our Nation (St. Thomas Source).

A native of St. Thomas, she made history as the first female Virgin Islander to graduate from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and the first Virgin Islands woman to attain the rank of Commander — truly breaking barriers for future generations (St. Thomas Source).
