How joining works

Enroll and pay
Join online through VIVA’s secure Zeffy form, by check, or at a VIVA event. All levels are annual.

Your level and payment plan are recorded and your dues are deposited and reconciled.

Welcome email
You receive your welcome letter, digital membership card and Charter Member certificate. Veterans also receive the Honor Roll invitation and consent form.

Your pin card is mailed, with the challenge coin for Charter Member and Hero levels, or presented to you at a VIVA event.

Join VIVA for 2027
Online enrollment is powered by Zeffy, a fundraising and membership platform that is free for nonprofits. There is no platform fee, no transaction fee and no card fee on dues, so every dollar goes to VIVA’s programs, outreach and resource referrals.

Frequently asked
Who can become a Charter Member?
Anyone who joins at any of the five levels during the inaugural charter period, which closes at the April 2, 2027 Inaugural Launch. Charter status is permanent while your dues stay current.
Are my dues tax-deductible?
Not at this time. VIVA filed its IRS Form 1023-EZ on October 19, 2026 and the determination is pending, so dues are not represented as tax-deductible.
Who qualifies for the Student level?
Full-time college students, including student veterans.
Is there a monthly payment option?
No. All five membership levels are paid annually, which helps VIVA plan programs and outreach for the year.
What does it cost VIVA to process my payment?
Nothing. Zeffy charges no platform, transaction or card fees to nonprofits. It is funded by optional tips that members can choose to add at checkout.
When will I receive my card and gifts?
Your welcome email, digital card and Charter certificate arrive within 5 business days. Your pin, and coin for Charter Member and Hero, is mailed within 10 business days or presented at a VIVA event.
What happens after April 2, 2027?
Regular membership continues year-round. New members join at the standard levels, and Charter recognition remains with those who joined during the charter period.
VIVA’s application for federal tax exemption is pending; membership dues are not represented as tax-deductible. Online payments are processed by Zeffy.
